what really gets to me is how obvious it would be to everyone beyond the tjlc community that john and sherlock are in love if one of them were a woman. bbc sherlock is unmistakably a love story, and yet people refuse to see it because of their own heteronormativity. we live in a culture where straight people don’t expect to see a gay love story represented in a positive light in the media and it is incredibly upsetting.
