Coming out (twice!)

peachysherlock:

So anyone who has followed me for a long time would know that up until recently, I’ve identified as pansexual. But I’ve been debating with myself a long time about whether or not that was an accurate label for myself, and trying to objectively analyse whether I’m really attracted to men or if compulsory heterosexuality was just screwing me over. I often found myself wishing that I was a lesbian and that I wasn’t attracted to men, and if that isn’t a sign, then…

The conclusion I reached was that I love women and women aligned people. I am sure in my attraction to them in a way that I’m not when it comes to men. I want to prioritise my relationships with women. I couldn’t see myself in a lasting relationship with anyone but a woman. And taking the definition of being a lesbian as a woman aligned person who is attracted to women and non men, I feel it suited me much better than pansexual did.

Also, you might have noticed that I am using they/them pronouns! It took me a while to get here, but I’ve finally realised I’m a demigirl (thanks to @captain-liddy and my birthday twin @cumberladiesunite ❤️) and they/them pronouns makes me feel so much freer than she/her ever did.

Thank you to everyone who’s been supportive of me since I came out, much love to all of you
❤️💛💚💙💜
